Our Programs

AIChE Projects
The AIChE Projects program promotes excellence in chemical engineering education and stimulates collaborative efforts among industry and professional societies by promoting team-oriented hands-on experiences for its students alongside local non-profit organizations and industry. AIChE currently has 6 projects in progress: Fuel Cell, Cryodesalination, Active Water Treatment, Portable Wind Power, Phosphorus Wastewater Treatment, and Ethanol Extraction. AIChE Chem-E-Car
Using various engineering disciplines, the Chem-E-Car teams work closely in a collaborative setting to build and design a shoebox-sized car. Vehicles are fully autonomous and controlled solely by chemical reactions to travel a specified distance and stop precisely. Project members have the chance to apply chemical engineering in a competitive, safety-critical setting against other universities across the United States.

ChemE Sports

A simulation based competition using process modeling software such as Aspen/ Petroskills.
ChemE Cube

A design and building competition a 1 cubic foot plant must be created to solve an annual problem statement. There is also a 1 minute ad, plant demonstration, and 20 minute pitch to a mock investor panel.
ChemE Jeopardy

A trivia competition with questions based on undergraduate Chemical Engineering coursework.

FamilE Program
The FamilE Mentorship Program is a structured, year-long peer mentorship initiative designed to support undergraduate chemical engineering students academically, professionally, and personally. Through intentional mentor–mentee pairings, guided activities, and community engagement, FamilE fosters meaningful connections while promoting leadership development, career readiness, and a strong sense of belonging within AIChE.
