About Chem-E-Car
Using various engineering disciplines, the Chem-E-Car teams work closely in a collaborative setting to build and design a shoebox-sized car. Vehicles are fully autonomous and controlled solely by chemical reactions to travel a specified distance and stop precisely. Project members have the chance to apply chemical engineering in a competitive, safety-critical setting against other universities across the United States.
Here at UCSD, our Chem-E-Car teams compete each year at AIChE Western Regionals and at the AIChE Annual Student competition against other universities, making it the most highly anticipated competition for chemical engineers. Unlike other organizations, Chem-E-Car is a premier competition team, composed of the best chemical engineers, and united with the common goal of learning how chemical engineering concepts can be applied in a competitive setting.
